Growing up outside of Philadelphia to German immigrant parents, music was always an important and required part of life. The discipline of practicing was quickly established in the 4th grade. I was lucky to study violin with David Madison of the Philadelphia orchestra from ninth grade through college.Upon graduating the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1995, I opened my own dental practice, By The Sea Dentistry, in Somers Point NJ.
Starting a family and going camping with my kids made me think of the days of summer camp and the counselors with guitars. Strumming the guitar around a campfire quickly became one of my favorite activities. Practicing guitar after a tough day at the office became an escape I loved to take. This led me to study with some of the best teachers in the Philadelphia area: Ken Wilson, Mark Cosgrove, Rolly Brown and Mike Dowling (Wind River Guitar). These fantastic teachers have had a huge impact on my life.
I really enjoy spending my vacation time with my two children doing things like snowboarding, kitesurfing ,fly fishing for steelhead, and travelling.
